A Six-PART, Attorney-Led Webinar SERIES:

1. October 29: Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining Bryance Metheny, Burr Forman

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) protects employees' rights to organize, join unions, and participate in collective bargaining. This includes understanding protected concerted activity, unfair labor practices, and managing union organizing efforts.

2. November 5: Discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity Paige Lyle, FordHarrison

This covers federal laws such as Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and related state laws. It includes hiring, promotion, pay, harassment prevention, and building inclusive workplaces.

3. November 12: Wage and Hour Compliance Steve Groom, Dedicated General Counsel

Primarily governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this includes requirements for minimum wage, overtime calculations, classifications of exempt vs. non-exempt employees, and proper record-keeping.

4. November 19: Employee Benefits and Leave Mary Leigh Pirtle, Bass Berry Sims

This covers the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), ERISA regulations for retirement and health plans, COBRA continuation coverage, and increasingly important state-level paid leave laws for family, medical, or personal reasons.

5. December 3: Employment Termination and At-Will Employment Rita Roberts-Turner, Klein Solomon Mills

While most U.S. employment is considered "at-will," there are key exceptions, such as terminations that violate public policy, breach implied contracts, or are acts of retaliation.

6. December 10: Workplace Safety and Health Luther Wright, Ogletree Deakins

The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requires safe work environments, proper training, hazard communication, and injury reporting. It also covers workers' compensation laws.
