The Emerging Leaders Award, presented annually by the SHRM Tennessee State Council, recognizes HR professionals early in their careers who are already shaping the future of the profession. Nominees, selected by a panel of State Council members, are considered based on chapter leadership, forward-thinking ideas, and career momentum. All nominations must be received by the deadline.
Leadership in the Chapter — such as committee involvement, program development, volunteer leadership, and active support of chapter goals and activities.
Forward-Thinking Ideas — including new approaches to HR practice, creative problem-solving, willingness to challenge the status quo, and ideas that have moved the chapter or profession forward.
Career Momentum — demonstrated growth and increasing responsibility early in their HR career, professional development, certifications in progress or earned, and overall trajectory within the field.
Professional Tenure — nominee must have 5 years or less of professional experience in the HR field as of the nomination deadline.
